The sum of all angles = angle 1 + angle 2 + angle 3

180 = (2 equal angles) + 120

Since angle 1 and angle 2 are two equal angles, 60 divided by 2 = 30 degrees

Let Y be Andrew’s total selling price for his house. Therefore,

Y = 2200 x 20

Let X be the amount Andrew makes after he pays 20% to his agent.

X = total selling price – 20% of total selling price

X = Y – .20Y

X = Y – 0.2Y

Two angles are said to be complementary angles if the measure of their angles add up to 90 degrees.

smaller angle + larger angle = 90

If we let x be the smaller angle, then:

x + larger angle = 90

larger angle = 90 – x

The problem also talks about the ratio of the 2 angles. Ratio 2:6 can also be reduced and written as 1:3, for simplicity and ease of computing.

The ratio1:3 simply means that, if the small angle measures x, the larger angle measures 3x:

larger angle = 3x

There are now two equations for the larger angle and we can equate them.

The probability of an event happening is defined in math as:

P = number of ways it can happen/total number of possible outcomes
